Title: Facebook door into the Coffee Shop
Post by: grahame on November 15, 2018, 06:47:28
((Here)) (https://www.facebook.com/CoffeeShopCRP) ... a gateway to the forum to allow social media (Facebook) users to be alerted in their regular daily visits there to what's going on here.    Here's the post pinned at the top to give Coffee Shop Forum readers sight of this.

Quote
The Coffee Shop is a public transport forum - run by passengers for passengers at http://www.passenger.chat . It covers the area all the way west from London - the areas covered by the Great Western rail franchise. We talk about all train and bus operators and their services in this area. We also talk about the future too, no matter who is running what public transport.

The Coffee Shop has been running since 2007, has a database of around 240,000 messages which are being added to at between 50 and 100 per day. It's completely free to read and to post. We do ask you to register before you post to help us control spam and ensure posts are legal and decent.

This Facebook page is a social media front end for the Coffee Shop forum. Facebook discussion tend to be "here today, gone tomorrow" whereas the forum has allowed us to refer back to discussions easily months or years later, and to categorise them by line or subject. Plans are for us to post regularly a "top topics" message here on Facebook so that likers / followers can be notified of what's being talked about while they're having their regular social media interactions on Facebook.

At the moment, all new posts require approval. Big thanks to Lucy, Tracey and Jo who are helping me (Graham) with any admin work here. We've made it a public page, but imposed that approval requirement to ensure we're kept roughly on topic with what's fed to you from here. There are plenty of other places you can learn about US politics, devices for clipping dog's claws, and PPI reclaims.

Page rules? As few as possible. Keep it friendly, please. Remember that the Coffee Shop philosophy is to encourage people to ask questions - an information service, and not an expert's club that frightens newcomers. If you would like the long rather than the sort of it, see http://www.passenger.chat/1761

The Coffee Shop's lifeblood is its members. Thank YOU in anticipation of your reading and contributions.
