A Christmas message ...

A Christmas message ...

I think people are enjoying the pictures judging by the number of "like"s even on Christmas morning.  It's open house for anyone who would care to translate the message and explain it  ;D ;D

I'm guessing that the first letter of each station shown spells HAPPY CHRISTMAS. This is based entirely on the number of letters and the fact that Stoke-on-Trent - which is the only one I can get - is in the correct place.

Happy Christmas anyway!

Oh, Taunton is there to support that theory. Surprisingly, the following one isn't Melksham :)

If your theory is correct, is there a phone box on Pilning platform? If so, the 4th letter would be P.

Of course, it could be Merry Christmas instead.

In that case, would the last one be (Aloha!) Severn Beach?

Is the M Melksham.

Last picture does look like Melksham.
Do not think it is, has twin lighting brackets. Probably is severn beach but was not like it when I last was there in 1988.

Really?  Looks like Abergynolwyn to me

Is the M Melksham.

I don't think so. the triangle end of the platform is quite distinctive and unless that has been a major earthquake since I last went to Melksham I there were no hill slike that!

These are the ones that have been correctly identified.    One or two others I almost gave you ... and some very interesting spellings in a couple of places.   But overall very impressive ... four to go ... none easy and one (I suspect) exceedingly hard!

H - Holyhead
A -
P -
P - Pilning
Y - Yeovil Pen Mill

C -
H -
R - Rhyl
I - Inverness
S - Stoke-on-Trent
T - Taunton
M - Morfa Mawddach
A - Abergynolwyn
S - Severn Beach

I will go for Alsager for the first letter A. The station flower beds are well looked after there.

Wow ...that is the one that I thought would be very much the hardest to get.  Goodness me - congratulations on that.

Conwy and Howth are right too.  All that'e needed to complete the quiz is a P.

I know it has to start with P but ... it's actually Rhyl, isn't it?

So a Harpy Christmas to you too!

Spot on ... a really bad pun there!.  Hope you've enjoyed interpreting the message, and that your Christmas Day has been more than you hoped.   Terribly conscious that for some, it's a tough day but even if you're one of those it can be better than you had expected ... hope that's been the case and for those who enjoy the whole thing, I hope you did so on all cylinders.

Last Christmas for us was ... not happy.  We booked to relive the previous Christmas, but that had been the the last with Dad; we'd gone to the big town Assembly Hall Christmas dinner and helped - though they really had too much help.  But repeated, it was miserable - not for others and the fantastic team, but for us, and this year we gave up 'our' places in ton for quietly at home.  Lunch was Turkey Rogon ...  But a good and happy Christmas; if you wonder about all the time I have been here online, Lisa has been updating / designing an App, and we are watching "First Dates" on the TV ... commenting whether we think people will make it.  For anyone disappointed - look forward to next year.  And you have 364 normal days to enjoy first!

Oh good grief - have I managed to screw up.   Thinking about it, I think I have; as I recall, Prestatyn is an island platform with a monstrous accessible slope bridge.
