Title: 27th December - 4.37pm Paddington to Oxford Post by: johoare on December 27, 2018, 18:06:37 16:37 London Paddington to Oxford due 17:58 will no longer call at Slough, Maidenhead and Didcot Parkway.
This is due to a problem currently under investigation. Last Updated:27/12/2018 16:33 They announced this on the train a couple of minutes later than the time it appeared on journeycheck and without any time for me to plan alternatives.. I knew there was a 4.40pm stopper to Maidenhead but wasn't sure I'd have time to get to it before it left and then there was a half hour wait until the next train.. So I decided to go to Reading them come back.. Anyone know what the problem under investigation was? A bit more notice next time would help passengers to plan.. Unsuprisingly it ran pretty empty.. I shared a carriage with only one other passenger to Reading and it left there just as empty. A door fault with the selective door opening (SDO) on a 9-car class 800 IET meant that the train could only call at stations with platforms that didn't require the use of SDO.
