A train company is running trips to the west country seaside this spring.

Retro Railtours are running their first charter train of the year from the North West to Devon this spring.

With the picturesque seaside town of Paignton as a destination, the train will depart from Huddersfield and call at Stalybridge, Reddish South, Stockport, Wilmslow, Crewe and Shrewsbury along the way.

Setting off early in the morning, passengers will arrive in Paignton around midday and will have several hours to explore before the train returns to the north in the evening.

My - goodness - me. Reddish South .... came up here a long, long, long time ago. started on thread no. 5 of the Coffee Shop

- Averting the closure of Ardwick , Denton and Reddish South stations.

Still work to be done there; I would not have imagined a special train to Torbay ...
