South Western Railway’s launched a major campaign to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour at train stations across its network.

The Station Watch Scheme is looking to use targeted patrols and build closer links between staff and police to help protect passengers.

The operator says each station involved will have a tailored plan that will include targeted patrols by South Western Railway’s Rail Community Officers; Rail Community Officers delivering security awareness sessions to passengers twice a year - and closer partnership arrangements with Network Rail and British Transport Police.

Ten stations are involved in the project:

Southampton Central
Bournemouth
Basingstoke
Woking
Clapham Junction
Guildford
Richmond
Staines
Surbiton
Wimbledon
