Title: Where were Finn and I this morning, 6th April 2019?
Post by: JayMac on April 06, 2019, 11:57:55
I was out looking at my potential new abode this morning. It's not too far from a main line...

If that's the view from the window ... a platelayer's hut would be a busman's perpetual holiday!

No idea where, but it looks a nice place to be on a wet but not actually raining morning. Hope you enjoy living there (nearby)!

I'm hopeful my new home will be a little larger than a platelayer's hut, with more than a woodburner and po by way of facilities!

And to reassure. The passing train shots were taken outside the crossing gates, with Finn secure. He was mostly carried on the short explore anyway - poor chap is recovering from Lyme Disease. Today was his first proper day out in five days.

Good to hear he's on the mend.

Lyme disease – nasty! (And when I got bitten by a tick last summer, I was told it was nothing to worry about because it's "hen's teeth." No I can give evidence to the contrary!)

Finn fortunately had few antibodies in his blood test meaning he wasn't seriously infected. He was still poorly enough though to be in vets for two nights and on a drip for 12 hours. He's a tough little chap though and we'll on the way to full strength. Short walks and antibiotics for a while.

Unfortuneatly too many primary care providers and some A&E departments underestimate Lyme disease, and tend administer the "pat on the head" and not to worry treatment. There has been a consistent rise in cases per 100,000 over the past years.
