Planning officers have given the green light to a scheme which could eventually bring more than 1,000 new jobs to Corsham (link below.)

Plans for a new media park at the former Spring Quarry at Westwells Road were submitted earlier this year.

The land was originally earmarked for a massive MoD scheme in 1993 but remained undeveloped.

But it will now become a new business and technology park, comprising offices, research and development facilities, data storage and processing centres.

The plans also include the creation of a new entrance in Westwells Road, junction modifications to include a new roundabout and the installation of two bus stops.

As part of the agreement the developer will set aside ^50,000 for traffic management improvements, a ^150,000 contribution to public transport and ^5,000 to install pedestrian and cycle signs.
