Title: Communications: who are they? Who am I?
Post by: Trowres on May 28, 2019, 17:25:50
This was extracted from the "London Underground" part of the GWR Journeycheck site this afternoon.

Quote
Severe delays between Paddington and Heathrow Airport due to a trespasser on the track in the Hanwell area. GOOD SERVICE between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. London Underground are accepting their tickets.

I'm sure this forum could come up with one correct answer and several humorous versions for the meaning of the final sentence.

If it's any help, the same data feed says we are fixing a signal failure at Aldgate.

I suspect an internal message from which parts were cut and pasted ... ah, the fun of information systems that have to be fed quickly during a developing incident but then can be analysed to the "nth" degree later.    "Us" and "them" perhaps TfL and GWR??  Or even Tfl Rail and TfL underground!
