Title: Comparison for thought - someone else's stats
Post by: grahame on July 23, 2019, 11:59:24
I find it interesting to compare our stats with others ... here, from a circular email from VisitWiltshire

Quote
VisitWiltshire Website

During June we had over 72.5k unique visitors to the website, 149k-page views and 82% new visitors. Top referral was Flipboard with just under 2k users and the top page was ‘What’s On’ with nearly 12,000 views.

And my comparison:

Over the last 4 weeks we have had over 6.3k unique visitors to the website, 139k-page views and 86% new visitors. Top arrivals were via organic search (3.5k) with referrals accounting for just under 0.5k users.  Our top boards for views were "Across the West", "Bristol Commuters" and "Fare's Fair".

They're a 'big' promotion outfit and we're 'just' a volunteer run forum, so not sure how fair the comparison is.

I note that each of their visitors looked at just 2 pages.

What is "Flipboard"?

My quickest-ever google search suggests that Flipboard is this: https://flipboard.com/

It is installed by default on my phone, and picks up news stories it thinks I might find interesting... sometimes it's even right!
