Title: The abandoned railway track that could help complete Cardiff's 'Crossrail'
Post by: grahame on October 02, 2019, 07:57:50
From Wales Online (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/cardiff-transport-llantrisant-trains-creigiau-16981098)

Quote
The village of Creigiau on the edge of Cardiff holds many of the secrets of the golden age of steam railways and it's where there might once again be a rail station if a long-abandoned track is revived as part of the South Wales Metro.

It's in an area where thousands of new homes are going up and where locals worry about the prospect of gridlocked roads and inadequate public transport.

A long piece that reads well ... diluted for me personally as I'm not familiar with the local geography there.

I think this belongs to this thread: http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=21882.msg268785#msg268785

...but it's beyond my ken to move it!
