Title: Dream - road rail integration
Post by: grahame on October 10, 2019, 14:38:22
I thought must be dreaming when I thought of a system where road to rail integration routinely worked. Then I realised that I'm in Dublin.

Don't take the pictures as a picture or a Utopian public transport system which everyone uses here because it's so good - that's far from the case (a city very much reliant on the car) but there are things to learn.  Places like Frome and Melksham and Warminster all seem to have a disconnect between the modes of transport ... walks at Bristol Temple Meads between modes remain significant in length and perhaps confusing to the newcomer.   I look with some admiration at Heuston and Connelly stations and the closeness of the buses, and other network change points such as (pictured) Red Cow.

P.S. Very colourful place - Red Cow, Blue Bell, Black Horse, Golden Bridge ... all on the red line.

I was quite impressed yesterday with the train station and bus/coach station interchange at Stourbridge Town with easy access to the rest of town. Seemed well used when I was there.
