More than you might imagine! The concession agreement (as signed - I've not checked if it's been changed) requires stations to be staffed -which is expected for TfL - but also to have staffed ticket offices. This is not the Underground, which TfL control (give or take a few unions). It's covered by the TSA, of which section 17 dictates the opening hours of all ticket offices. So the latest verison says, for example, that Taplow (and Iver) must be open 0630 to 1300 weekdays. But the operator (XR/MTR) can ask the SoS (as well as RfL) to change that, if they can catch his eye.
