Title: Retirement of Trevor Beavan, long time anchor at Pewsey station

From Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pewsey_railway_station

Quote
The current (2018) Station Master is Trevor Beaven who has held the post for over 50 years. Prior to managing Pewsey, Mr Beaven worked at the former Woodborough Station for six years. Mr Beaven was awarded an MBE for his services in 1999

Trevor has done the most enormous good for the various train operators and for the customers and community at Pewsey station - his MBE well deserved. I've personally had the privelige of interacting with him (usually means "being helped by him") on a few occasions.

Trevor retires on Friday, 13th December and I would like to thank him for all he has done for us customers over the past many years, and wish him a long and happy retirement.

Trevor will be greatly missed by many people who use Pewsey station.

I wonder if it is more than a coincidence that he has chosen to retire just before the commencement of the new timetable, when the first off-peak train of the day will become a peak-time train resulting in the more than doubling of the fare to London on that train?

Quoting from a public post on Facebook - an appreciation from many of the work that Trevor Beavan has done at Pewsey Station over 44 years.  A shining example of customer service, he will be sadly missed and these accolades deserve to be remembered long, long after they fade back into time on Facebook.
