As an example, my usual Valley Lines journey to CDF & back goes down from £4.05 to £3.30.  And it might even be a 150 with a state of the art bog instead of a Pacer.

Surely you just buy on the return home trip to go back later that day? With two singles to start & end the overnight shift period (unless you're on permanent nights, then you'd buy a season anyway)

If you have successive night shifts and the gift of forethought, yes, and your averaged price will fall between those quoted
