Title: London Underground introduces First Class carriages
Post by: grahame on December 05, 2019, 19:32:12
From the Suffolk Gazette (https://www.suffolkgazette.com/news/london-underground-introduces-first-class-carriages/) ... to be moved to "the lighter side" when confirmed as a joke.

The news was revealed exclusively to the Suffolk Gazette after an alert reader spotted a sign at Holborn this evening.

While anyone with money will enjoy the new posh commuting experience, to be introduced first on the Central Line, not everyone is happy, describing it as elitist and Victorian in nature.

City worker Lorraine Fisher, 34, was furious: “Traveling on the Tube when it’s busy is difficult enough, but knowing these snobs in the next carriage are lounging around quaffing champagne is too much.

I think some Coffee Shoppists are going to start campaigning for LU stock to be used on GWR services. The buffet looks very stylish.  :D ;D

Metropolitan Railway Pullman car GALATEA

Side view of the Metropolitan Railway's Pullman car GALATEA, photographed between 1909-1922 in its original livery of umber and cream with a white roof. The Metropolitan was the only Underground line to operate these specially appointed coaches. Note the decorative stained glass side lights at each end of the car.

I for one would like there to be a fast service, say Basingstoke to say Cambridge, with NO stops, my geograpical knowledge of the other side of London is a bit sketchy, for the very reason, that I avoid London at all costs.

FAKE - There's a website somewhere where you enter your choice of text and it will print it onto a pretend LUL whiteboard.

Edit - Forgot to mention I am referring to the photo in the Suffolk Gazette link

Edit No 2 - Having taken a closer look, the whole website is a spoof news site and I fear I have been fooled by Grahame. :'(

Outrageous, LUL now to get better trains than so called inter-city services to Cornwall. :)

About Suffolk Gazette

You couldn’t make it up. Suffolk is full of strange and wonderful stories, and our tales explode across social media and get repeated by gullible mainstream media, including Sky News and national newspapers.

"You couldn't make it up ... but we do"

Every day is 1st April.

A colleague in Chicago just asked me about this, apparently doing the rounds on the news over there!
