Title: Choir at Reading Station 5pm 9th December
Post by: Gordon the Blue Engine on December 09, 2019, 18:45:43
Mrs GTBE was in the choir on the footbridge at Reading station this evening at around 5 pm, collecting for Help the Aged.  She says passing passengers were appreciative and generous, so a special thank you to any GWCS members who were passing.

I think this sort of thing is a true delight. It reminds me of a winter evening, some years back, when a local brass band, unable to use a nearby pre planned practice space, did an impromptu performance on the platform at Redland Station.  "Fun Police" considerations aside, this surely engages people with their local stations.

Agreed johnneyw

Many years ago, I travelled to Holland on the Harwich ferry, on which there was also a Dutch choir returning from a choral tour. They stood on the rear deck and gave us all an impromptu concert. Much appreciated by all!

Blinkin' flip, I would have loved to have been there. I was on the same ferry service from the early 60's to the early 70's and now I'm very jealous of you...….in a nice way.
