Title: A Bit of an Anticlimax
Post by: eightf48544 on December 15, 2019, 16:19:47
Wondered down to Taplow to catch the 08:11 9P24 XR train, the first scheduled day time train for probably  at least 30 years or more.

Young TFL girl on the station duty (not bookigoffice)

Bought  Ticket (Cheap day return Slough (Senior Railcard) after struggle with machine, i don't like the new TFL  machine!

Train arrived on time caught it with one other person. 345 seemd to give smoother ride than a  387, good aceleration and braking?

Alighted Slough and returned on 08:36 9R26. first Reading bound schduled train. 4 including me got off.

Felt a bit like Grahame at Melksham counting passengers is this the start of something big?

Rumour has it that the Fourth Bridge has either opened today or will do tomorrow. Once all the barriers are removed  and the second temporary bridge removed and the flower beds replanted Taplow will look realy smart.

Moderators please move to Sunday services at Acton and West Ealing.

judging by the finish t looks like it's heavily treated and a repaint will not be needed for a few years

Be intereting to see how the lifts perform!
