The first episode of ‘The Station: Trouble on the Tracks’ airs on ITV1 at 9 pm on Thursday 12 March. The new programme shows a wide range of challenges which railway staff face every day to keep passengers moving safely. The documentary team spent six weeks filming on Network Rail’s Central and West Coast Main Line South routes in November and December last year. ‘The Station: Trouble on the Tracks’ is a three-part series and will air for the next three weeks at 9 pm on ITV on 12 March, 19 March and 26 March. On a diferent note, one of the problems was the Bristol Line was blocked by flooding at Blackwell so Cross Country trains unable to pass. But as the blockage was North of Worcester there is an alternative route via Kidderminster to either Snow hill or New Street. However, I presumme most CC drivers don't have route and/or traction knowledge so there aren't enough to provide conductor drivers, similary with LM drivers. Interesting to contrast with GWR who maintain a pool of drivers with Westbury to Exeter via Yeovil route/ traction knowledge. One of the unforseen consequences of privatisation.
