Title: National Rail website - new look, short-lived?
Post by: Marlburian on March 19, 2020, 12:12:40
I have to go into Reading today and am considering various ways. If the rain stops, I could walk the three miles or so; or if I were lazy take the train into Reading Station (which local news websites report to have been "deserted" in the morning rush hour) and then catch a train to Reading West. Possibly a more hygienic option than taking a bus. Perhaps even a taxi - I gather that cab-drivers are very short of custom.

Anyway I checked the National Rail website and it had been rejigged, with smaller typeface and a vertical route plan showing all the stops for a specified journey. One stopper from Reading was "cancelled" at Twyford but seemed to be calling at subsequent stations.

Quite nifty, I thought, but as I was composing this I checked out the NR website again and it had reverted to its old format.

A temporary aberration? A test of a new layout? Or had I accidentally discovered some magical combination of keys to bring up the alternative format?
