Title: Can anyone date this picture [DotD - 25.3.2020]
Post by: grahame on March 25, 2020, 15:50:07
This sort of thing takes me back ... but how long?
We met at nine, we met at eight, I was on time, no, you were late
Ah, yes, I remember it well
We dined with friends, we dined alone, a tenor sang, a baritone
Ah, yes, I remember it well

That dazzling April moon, there was none that night
And the month was June, that's right, that's right
It warms my heart to know that you remember still the way you do
Ah, yes, I remember it well

Well it's a Class 153 converted from one half of a Class 155 in 1991/92.

So No Earlier than 1991  ;D

But as unit in London Midland Trains colours, Can't be earlier than November 2007.  :D

Would the Station be Wilmcote?

I think the station is Malvern Link and if it is, the new station buildings opened in early 2014 - and not too long after the footbridge received a coat of paint to match the station buildings.  It looks like that coat of paint is in the process of being applied, with just the span to do.

So based on the poem I'll go for June 2014.

You're going to be very happy with me when you realise just how recent ...

Well, all the WMT 153s are still in London Midland green rather than the gold they've adorned their 170 and 172 fleet in, so it is a 'current' livery.

I quick "images" Google of Stratford upon Avon station shows that the footbridge has been smartly painted in something like the old GWR pink "stone" colour for some time, latterly outlined smartly in red, I'm afraid Smokey.

It also has the wrong pattern of holes in the canopy edge thingummies (soffits?), and wooden infill in the staircase sides (which Malvern Link has too) rather than the riveted steel sheets in Graham's picture. But basically it's just a very common style of footbridge in those parts.

Someone has the right station, someone has the right month, but not in the same post.

Using Google images search, I have found a picture of Malvern Link on 17 February 2014 with the footbridge looking recently repainted into the pink colour referred to in my previous post.

Was it in November 2013?

Correct  ;D.  ... couldn't believe it when a 153 in those colours turned up .... like old times!  Think it was 153333 that we had in the South West.
