Post by: grahame on April 04, 2020, 19:56:03
From the Yorkshire Post (https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/heritage-and-retro/heritage/meet-young-couple-who-saved-two-pacers-scrap-and-want-live-one-2529485)

Quote
... the creative couple in their twenties have rescued two 1980s-era Pacer trains from the scrap yard after Northern retired them from service, and have ambitious plans to give them a new lease of life.

Musician and songwriter Sam and his wife Mim, from Durham, have donated one of the Class 142 diesel units to the Wensleydale Railway as a gift, while the other is being temporarily cared for by the heritage line ahead of a long-term project to transform it into a home, a holiday let and a community arts space.

Down here in SWR land at Eastleigh, pacers 142089 + 142032 + 142014 worked 5Z43 07:07 Gascoigne Wood - Eastleigh, and:
The newly arrived Pacers are now understood to be owned by Arlington, with a further three pathed for Monday afternoon, 6th April.. Intriguing!

No idea why Eastleigh works needs 6, trials on the Fawley branch, and or Wareham to Swanage.

Also Sahra Siddons, LT vintage electric loco is at Eastleigh as is 86101, various 442s a class 50, are they setting up a museum.
