Title: A little "where was I" end of week distraction quiz
Post by: johnneyw on May 29, 2020, 13:07:17
Before I joined the Coffee Shop I would have considered this a tough nut for forum members to crack.  Not any more.  So where did I break my journey on a day trip last year?  It's taken on NR property.

At a guess St Keyne possibly.

Ah yes, I can see how the picture might have suggested the wishing well that's associated with that stop but it's not St Keyne.

Interestingly, I've posted this location already in a 'Where was Red Squirrel'... Bignosemac got it that time...

Drat and double drat!  I really do hope it was another view of the station rather than the one I used.

Um... how do I break it to you?  :D

Chris from Nailsea, incidentally, was flabbergasted that BNM got it so quickly. So was I...

Oh well, anyone who has not seen it before is welcome to guess of course but I reckon there's a lot that have. :-\

Yes, I still recognise the location!

I'll let others try to guess. And no searching the forum for the previous picture!

Yes, Droitwich Spa down platform?

Yes, bang on. Droitwich Spa.  Don't know if there's much of a story behind it but it does look most unexpected there and isn't immediately obvious...… and yes, I noticed the semaphore signal rich environment there too.

We need a forum quiz picture Top 10.

I'm pretty sure Melksham is #1 and Taunton #2.

Droitwich Spa is climbing up the chart.

It is - or, more accurately “has been” - on my regular commute from Worcester to Brum, though I have never investigated this feature closely. That’s probably because if I’m on the platform it is more fun to look at the signals, as you say - the centre-pivot lower-quadrants at the north end are really excellent.

Add ... Pilning, Paddington. ... at the other end of the scale, there are GWR / GWR served stations I can't recall seeing pictures of at all.

Without doing a forum search I can't recall Heyford or Tackley ever appearing in a picture quiz or a 'Where was I?'
