Post by: CyclingSid on July 12, 2020, 11:51:02 On the way back from Winchester yesterday, the Basingstoke to Reading train made the following announcement audible and customer information screen as it pulled into Bramley (Hampshire): "Take care when stepping from the train to the platform. Yate. Yate"

"The next station this train will call at is Neath" says the automated announcement, upon which the train manage comes on with the "sorry about that - next station we call at is Newport. At least it got the first two letters right ..."
