Title: Sussex Historical Rail Fail
Post by: Lee on October 13, 2020, 08:57:21
For your entertainment... Probably one of the worst rail-related articles I have read in a long time - https://www.sussexlive.co.uk/news/history/abandoned-sussex-railway-stations-what-4599812

Do particularly savour the section on Lewes Road...

I just about remember Horam before it closed (and Heathfield). My first job was at Merrydown (makers of apple wine and other fermented products) in Horam, start of a dissolute life? Cycled six miles to work in the morning and wobbled eight miles home in the evening.

The "old" Uckfield station was where I caught the train to join the army.

I think there are more interesting old stations in Sussex, but the article does seem to be rather East Sussex orientated.
