Title: Eight of the best - or perhaps the most obvious
Post by: grahame on October 19, 2020, 10:18:21
All from the very recent pictures that are now appearing in the top right if the main Coffee Shop page.   There are (!) 102 picture - can you identify any one of these eight each?

Not quite a traditional quiz because I have not been to Taunton!

Can identify 6 of the 8, (not 2 or 7). To choose one only I'll go for no 1, BOA.

Sorry - but it's not B-o-A

4: Swindon

3. Ryde Esplanade

Yes, and yes.   I have very poor connection just at the moment - at the extreme of the mobile phone signal.  Will fill in on the original when I get home, circa 1 hour.

5 Ryde Pier Head

Also correct

2 is the Jubilee clock outside Swindon Station.  Was formerly in the town centre.  It is also usually a few minutes out.

6 is Portsmouth Harbour

Both correct ... correct answers to date edited into original ... 1, 7 and 8 remain.

I take it the picture of Melksham was before Network Rail attempted to fix the drainage and broke the signalling ::)

Is No.7 London Bridge?

It isn't - though I can understand why you guess that.  I've been no-where near London ...

Would No 7 be Portsmouth and Southsea?

7 agree with Portsmouth and Southsea, under the high level station

Sadly, it would not be Portsmouth and Southsea

And no. 7 would be ? ... very close to home for at least one member. I will complete the quiz tonight if no-one gets it.

7. swindon?

In the nick of time ... YES ... it's Swindon Bus Station - photograph taken during a delightful wait for the daily National Express coach to Melksham.

Funnily enough, when I first saw that picture I thought (of the surroundings, on stylistic grounds) "that reminds me of Swindon". But it's not somewhere I really know, and lots of other members do, so ...
