German Rail (Deutsche Bahn) has used photos of picturesque German locations that mirror famous foreign tourist destinations to encourage Germans to holiday in their home country.

Can you name some UK equivalents for famous overseas spots.

e.g.  (with help and experience with Lisa)
Magic Mountain, Orlando -> Snowdon
Alligator Alley -> the A14 in Lincolnshire
Daytona Beach -> Skeggy

Who but the most discerning (or sober) could quickly distinguish between San Tropez and Severn Beach?  Monaco or Clevedon?

I thought the first two pictures in the linked article (Arizona and the Rhineland) were somewhat reminiscent of Symonds Yat:

Sandbanks in Poole certainly wants to be in southern france!

Mont St Michel in Normandy and St Michael's Mount in Cornwall, although whether one is that much more famous than the other perhaps open to debate.

The whole bay from Southbourne around to Studland is a pretty good substitute for a bucket and spade destination for the south of France and Spain. I spent a good deal of time at Bournemouth, Branksome and Studland when my kids were small. The only problem is that the temperature is usually between 5 and 15 degrees cooler!

Whilst in the general area, the view of Weymouth from the viewpiont at the top of the hill at Fortunsewell on Portland is very similar to the view from the top of Table Mountain, Cape Town

Cycling from Christchurch to Poole is enjoyable (Prohibited during daylight hours July and August). Recently "enhanced" by the view of out of work cruise liners off-shore. Best with a following east wind, Bromptons can have problems if there is too much sand on the path. Used to feature on inter-war railway posters.Recommended.
