Bus Back Better - the National Bus Strategy is the most ambitious reform the bus sector has seen in a generation. Backed by £3billion of investment, the strategy aims to make buses more frequent, faster, simpler, greener and easier to use. But the funding is also explicitly linked to local transport authorities and bus operators in England being in a statutory enhanced partnership or exploring franchising arrangements.

As part of the Public Transport Recovery series, Landor LINKS is bringing together key speakers from across the bus industry to discuss how the strategy will be implemented and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead.

The webinar will be chaired by Jennie Martin of ITS-UK and features speakers from Department for Transport (invited), Atkins, City Science and Transdev-Blazefield plus an opportunity to take part in an interactive Q&A to conclude the webinar.

A full programme will be announced shortly.

The National Bus Strategy, Bus Back Better is the most ambitious reform for the bus sector in a generation. Under the Government's strategy, backed by £3billion of investment, buses will be more frequent, cheaper, greener and easier to use as government continues its levelling up agenda and urges councils and operators to work in partnership for the benefit of passengers.

Join Landor LINKS on Wednesday 14th April for a 90 minute webinar to discuss:

1.   An introduction to the National Bus Strategy from the DfT and what local authorities need to do now
2.   The process for becoming an Enhanced Partnership / pros & cons vs. franchising
3.   Analysis and evidence that should go into a Bus Service Improvement Plan
4.   Buses integrating with other modes as part of the National Bus Strategy

This appears to be a free event. Or do they only give you the price once you have registered?

I have registered and been sent a link which lets me join the meeting on the day. No mention of any price or payment along the way. Not stated anywhere, but it does indeed appear to be a free event.

I started watching this but my internet crashed after about 30 minutes. The bits I saw were primarily aimed at Local Authorities and operators.

Never mind rogerw - At least you can look forward to joining us at the Option 24/7 Zoom meeting next Monday 19 April. (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=24850.0)

We will aim to be just as informative, and with ringmasters such as grahame and Peter Blackburn aiming to keep the likes of David Redgewell and myself in line, I dare say it will be just as entertaining as well.

Seriously though to anyone reading this, please do come along if you have an interest and want to assist - We would love to have you on board.

It seemed to lose audio for everyone for about 10 minutes, got me confused!
