Title: Cyclists to be banned from cycling through Windsor and Maidenhead high streets

I am not sure this is news

I thought cycling had been banned for years in the main streets of Windsor. From a cycling point of view the only thing that Windsor is famous for is 10m long cycle lanes.

Use of a public space protection order is normally a sign that they are handing a nice little earner to some private enforcement company, although that is not obvious from this report.

I would have thought it would be almost impossible to cycle down Peascod Street at the height of the tourist season, if we ever get back to the numbers.

Maidenehad is different matter I've seen a number of near misses.

It is banned in the middle of Swindon along with skateboarding, roller blading, scootering and aggressive begging.

But you’d never know.

In Swindon it's not unknown for individuals to be doing several of those activities simultaneously!

Surely anybody using the streets of Swindon town centre for anything is a good thing.
