Title: Bus Changes, 29/08/2021
Post by: DaveHarries on August 17, 2021, 16:30:39
Greetings all,

After looking at a post on another forum it becomes apparent that there are quite a few timetable changes for buses in and around Bristol coming in the next couple of weeks. So far I am aware of:

Bristol:
- Service 5 (Downend - Bromley Heath - Fishponds - City Centre) will no longer serve Bromley Heath and will now run a more direct route, with shorter journey times, between Downend and Oldbury Court.

Following a round of retendering of service contracts:
- Service 12 (Cribbs Causeway - Severn Beach) will be run by First on Sundays & Bank Hols.
- Service 622 (Chipping Sodbury - Cribbs Causeway) will be run by First on Sundays & Bank Hols.
- Services 663-665 (Keynsham area) will pass from HCT to Stagecoach
- Service 672 (Blagdon - Bristol) will be operated by Eurotaxis, HCT withdrawing, with only 2 journeys each way per day rather than the present 5.

I have heard elsewhere that Service 17 (Southmead Hospital - Keynsham) is to be split following a retendering exercise with one part being renumbered as Service 16. I am sure I have seen it suggested that Stagecoach will be operating the 16 but I cannot find anything to confirm this.

Weston-s-Mare & North Somerset:
Services X1-X7 are slightly retimed. In addition:

- Service X9 (Nailsea - Bristol) is reduced in daytime frequency on Mondays to Saturdays with journeys now running every 90 minutes rather than every 30 minutes. The hourly evening service is maintained. Also, on Sundays and Bank Holidays, the 30-minute frequency is reduced to one every 90 minutes with later starts from both ends of the route.

With the town services in Weston-super-Mare, Services 1-6 are unchanged.
- Service 7 (Oldmixon & Haywood) is increased in frequency at peak times but is otherwise unchanged.

If I find out anything else I will put it here.

HTIOI,
Dave
