Correct on almost every element, except that it extended on from Monte (where the pictures were taken) at 550 metres above sea level to Terrerio da Luta at 850 metres ...

Part of the course now has public (?) transport available once again in one direction only.  I will not, I'm afraid, be supporting a campaign to run these in the other direction too.

Did you experience the street toboggans, grahame?

The Channel 4 series 'Travel Man' with Richard Ayoade visited Madeira in series six, episode 3. Robert Webb and Richard took a ride on the street toboggan.

Full episode is available on Amazon Prime. Here's some highlights from YouTube (toboggan from 2.29):

Only the experience of watching them start.   In past times, I would probably have enjoyed them; in these days I felt they would be like theme park rides (except the swans at Alton Towers) and make me feel sick for the rest of the day.

But did you do dad-style keepy-uppies in front of possibly the world's most talented exponent of o jogo bonito?*

*As it's probably not known.

Oooooo Madeira. Not jealous. Hope to go back again next March, Covid permitting. Beautiful island.
