Title: Lacking food and drink while travelling

If you think that’s bad, I was told this morning there was no ketchup loaded onboard. Clearly BS and I’m tiring of poor service and worse excuses. Challenge it. I was also told there was no White Zin onboard and then hey presto loads of it available. It’s not as if we’re doing a transatlantic with 6 straight sea days. We’ve been in port most days.

I have never had problems on a train with lack of Ketchup or White Zin - so perhaps our on-train issues are not as bad as we sometimes make out.   Or perhaps it's because I've never asked for Ketchup.

What have YOU found lacking as you travel?

Lack of a trolley on both out and return legs on the SW semifasts on the weekend. However, we were just grateful they both actually ran!

Well I had the pleasure of a full breakfast service, with sparkling wine, orange juice and much toast and marmalade on my outbound service from Swindon to York, last Saturday and on the return service, mushroom soup, full xmas dinner with roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, parsnips and other vegetables, Christmas pud /custard with cheese selection and bread rolls and sweeties to end with.  This was accompanied by white wine and real ales. An excellent feast.....

I do not eat that much goose, neighbours eat it almost every day and keep a supply of home made goose dishes in the freezer.
Canada geese are large, stupid and good to eat. They are very numerous and most landowners will give permission to shoot them. A licence is needed.

Canada geese - large, stupid AND dangerous.

Just ask Chesley Sullenberger.

Certainly dangerous to aircraft, which is another good reason to encourage eating them. To reduce Canada goose number around airports, spread the following rumours, via social media, complete with government statements that state the rumours to be untrue.

1) To men, that regular eating of goose prevents hair loss and improves proficiency in golf.
2) To women, that regular consumption of lean wild goose helps weight loss.
3) To couples trying to conceive a child, that eating of goose improves fertility.
4) To parents, that children who regularly eat goose burgers do better in exams.
5) To older people, eating goose prolongs life.

The birds may as a result become locally extinct, but we could send them a few, for a price.
