Title: OTD - 4th February (1905 to 1963) - Newquay to Chacewater

I wonder how many railway lines have opened on a date, and closed on the same date in another year? Newquay to Chacewater - 4th Feb 1905 to 4th Feb 1963. Strikes me as an incredibly late opening.  Anyone know the story?

Looking at Wikipedia it would appear to be a final effort by GWR to stop the LSWR at Bude and not allow them any further into Cornwall.  The line was authorised in 1890 but there were delays in its construction.
