Title: CALL CENTER FRUSTRATIONS
Post by: Commuting Bookworm on May 02, 2008, 16:36:38
I give up! I have spent all afternoon trying to book tickets for the night sleeper train from London to Newquey for 01/08/08. The online system gets stuck on do you want to share a birth. Then I call the number given for the night sleeper bookings to be told they do not know what I am tallking about and I need to call call 08457 484950 who then in very bad english inform me she is only information and can not book tickets. Talk about useless! Im going to try and sort it out at Reading station tonight, but since last week when i spoke to them he didn't really know too much about them I don't hold out much hope! talk about ****ed Off! no disrespect but when are companies going to learn that it is not good customer service to have call centres abroud with people who do not speak english as a first language getting the hump with customers!

National Rail Enquiries never have been able to do tickets.

Ring FGW telesales.

You are booking too early anyway, wait until Advance tickest are available in a few weeks. Booking now would cost ^144 each and ^60 for the cabin.

Just to add that - a sleeper service doesn't run between London and Newquay - it runs between London and Penzance!

I'm not sure I would want to share a birth with anybody.  ;D

I think he wanted to share with her husband/partner/freind.

But you can buy tickets London-Newquay, it is just a change.

Last time I checked a FGW timetable it spouted off a load of trains ... which were mostly all cancelled on the day in question....

THANKS for all your postings. I am eager to try and get a good deal thats why I am watching it all so closely. I have been told that once booking for the first weekend in August opens there will only be a handful of deals, thats why i am trying to be one of the first. Its the first time I have manged to get hubby to go by train and part of the reason why I HAVE WON IS THE COST, BUT INTO THAT ITS NOT JUST PETROL, BUT PARKING AND THE FACT THAT WE WON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A HOTEL ON THE fRI NIGHT AS WE USUALLY DO. tRIDITIONALLY WE HAVE GONE ON FRIDAY TO AVOID THE QUES that occure on the motaways on Saturdays. If anyone gets wind that dates are being opened, be a sport and give me the wink! Thanks guys!

Reserved on line yesterday and got a really good deal. now all I need is tickets home mid August, though could always tell boss unable to get back, have decided to become a beach bum and stay there forever! What do you guys think? Do you think the boss will take pity on me, think Im insane and pay me sick pay for 6 months? - just a dream i know!  Thanks for all words of wisdonm and support on this matter. Often all we want is a place to vent frustrations.
