Title: Branch Line Services Cancelled
Post by: GWR 158 on May 27, 2022, 15:59:59
Hi all,

I just been having a look at GWR journey check and it says the following trains are cancelled due to signalling staff being taken ill. I'm wondering why would they need to cancel these services? Would it be lack of signallers at TVSC?

22:23 Marlow to Maidenhead due 22:46
22:36 Slough to Windsor & Eton Central due 22:42
22:45 Windsor & Eton Central to Slough due 22:51
22:50 Maidenhead to Marlow due 23:13

Thanks for any information in advance :)

I suspect this is part of the wonderfully named policy of "controlled disruption" (see the "Signalling staff being taken ill" thread in Across the West),  in order to cater for those signallers who are working to have a tea break.

I would imagine all other trains running in the area will grind to a controlled stop for 30 minutes at the same time.

Yes, some local services listed on Journeycheck as also being affected along with the already listed branch line cancellations.
