I read this interview with interest, and Sir Peter states that in the negotiations the RMT rejected an offer of an 8% pay rise over 2 years, no compulsory redundancies, and various other parts of a package including bonuses and 75% off rail travel for family members, but the RMT rejected it without putting it to the membership - is this true?

If so, how can the Union justify this? Surely the membership have the right to express whether or not they wish to accept or at least have the right to consider it?

Because 8%  left them well behind inflation. Doesn’t cover this year, never mind RPI+% next year
