Title: Salisbury to Exeter 13-08-2022
Post by: Alan Pettitt on August 13, 2022, 18:10:07
I was at Axminster station a little before 0900 this morning (13th August)  the platform was filling quite quickly for the 0903 to Exeter, then an announcement that the 0903 to EXD was cancelled due to emergency services attending an incident. Many people asked me what was happening, so I checked Journeycheck and found that the incident was actually yesterday. It seemed peculiar, as the previous train and following train ran, anybody have any idea why yesterday's incident affected that particular train?

Train had struck someone and was retained for forensic examination ?
Train hit deliberate obstruction and was withdrawn for repairs ?
Some serious crime occurred on board and the interior still being examined for evidence ?

In such circumstances I would expect that a spare unit would be used the next day, but perhaps none available.

Or auto excuse generator fail, so just re-used previous days excuse.
