Title: Train from Padd to Bristol TM cancelled due to overcrowding
Post by: hoover50 on August 14, 2022, 13:05:41
It seems the 11:30 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads today (Sun 14/8/2022) was cancelled "due to overcrowding"

1) Surely this would mean subsequent services would be even more crowded?
2) I wonder whether it was a 5-carriage, 9-carriage or 10-carriage train?

I think the set was used to form an additional service at 11:30 to Exeter St Davids which only called at Reading, Bristol Temple Meads, Taunton and Tiverton Parkway.    Looks like it was 9 coaches.

Then the 12:03 to Penzance ran non-stop from London Paddington and Taunton.

In fact the scheduled stops between Paddington and Exeter were dropped due to overcrowding. I can’t remember running non-stop between these two stations before.

Issues with the 10:18 PNZ-PAD:

10:18 Penzance to London Paddington due 15:38 was 11 minutes late but is now being further delayed at Castle Cary.
This is due to overcrowding.

Left Castle Cary 83 minutes late.

Probably trying to persuade passengers to disembark and wait for the following additional train:

An additional train service has been planned to operate as shown 15:34 Exeter St Davids to London Paddington due 17:54.
