Title: Heart of Wales Line, December 2022
Post by: DaveHarries on August 27, 2022, 17:37:21
Greetings all,

A couple of years ago TfW promised that there would be extra through services on the Heart of Wales (Llanelli - Craven Arms, via. Llandovery) route from December 2022. Good news is that the RealTimeTrains website now has timings for 19th December 2022 and the timings for that day give the following information which looks quite promising. There are later trains on Mondays to Saturdays alongside the 5 through trains and the current commuter services.

I give links for Llandrindod and Llandovery for each day below as there are certain trains which will start and terminate at those locations:

Mondays to Fridays:
Llandovery: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:LLV/2022-12-19/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
Llandrindod: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:LLO/2022-12-19/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt

Saturdays:
Llandovery: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:LLV/2022-12-31/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
Llandrindod: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/detailed/gb-nr:LLO/2022-12-31/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt

Really a complete recast of the line's TT with what looks like a much better service. I think it was also planned to have extra through services each way on a Sunday (3 instead of the current 2, IIRC?) but this isn't yet reflected on RTT if so. It will be interesting to see how well the late evening services do though.

Dave

Fabulous to see an improved service on the HOWL.  They deserve a better service.  Especially a later evening departure at both ends of the line.
