From 1 January 2023, we will no longer provide SMS alerts from the GWR JourneyCheck platform.

The GWR JourneyCheck website and email alerts will continue as normal.

For customers who currently receive SMS alerts, these will be automatically transferred to the registered email address on your account from 1 January 2023.

That's pretty poor. I know some people have their phone alert them every time a new email arrives (and it gets very wearing if I spend much time with them!), but I'd much rather get that sort of instant alert as a text message.

It is irritating when providers don't use the most appropriate form of communication or allow you to specify what you want. My dentist insists on phoning the day before to remind you of an appointment the next day. Their online appointment system is pretty useless as well so getting an appointment usually involves a bit of inefficient toing and throwing on the phone.

I suspect the hand of the DfT in cutting any expenditure they feel is duplicating other comms methods.

But poor, yes, as I haven't received this email notification yet - nor by text either!
