Title: HST power car fire, Starcross 14/12/2022
Post by: JayMac on December 14, 2022, 14:59:53
Power car 43005 St Michael's Mount leading 2U20 the 1243 from Plymouth to Bristol Temple Meads was reported as on fire at Starcross earlier this afternoon. Passengers and crew were moved to the rear of the train. Fire Service attended and all lines are blocked.

As of 1450 the fire has been extinguished and the train is awaiting the arrival of fitters to effect recovery.

The line block is obviously causing disruption to the very limited passenger service running today.

2U20 got underway again, powered from the rear only, some two hours after coming to a stand. Arrived at Exeter St Davids 138 minutes late, where it was terminated.

Photo looks to be the rear power car which wasn't the one affected by the fire.
