Not a real shock, the content of the dust on the Tube has been known for a long time, human skin being the highest content.

I've often noticed, getting home after a day trip to London with walking and tube, that when I blew my nose the substance added to my handkerchief had a black colouration.  The colouration being who-knows-what bits that I didn't want to think about.

Similarly, metal particles from vehicles braking are one of the major components of urban air pollution above ground.

And car tyres also. (https://www.cieh.org/ehn/environmental-protection/2022/june/the-threat-to-public-health-from-tyre-pollution-could-become-major-issue-for-regulators/)

I'll bet it's nothing like as bad as it was in the days before they banned smoking on the Tube back in the 1980s!
