Title: Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways (FoSBR) AGM 2023
Post by: Red Squirrel on February 08, 2023, 16:31:14
Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways (FoSBR) will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Friday, 24th March 2023. This year we will be holding the AGM ‘in person’ for the first time since 2020.

The venue for this year’s AGM is the Alma Church Hall, 29 Alma Road, BS8 2ES, near Clifton Down station.

The AGM will start at 7.30pm and end at 9.30pm.

We will be sending our first FoSBR Newsletter of 2023 by post shortly.  Membership renewal forms (for those paying by cheque) will be sent with the newsletter. There is no need to send your subscription before then.

We do not need the renewal form for those paying by bank transfer or PayPal.

The main speaker at FoSBR AGM 2023 is Dan Okey, Regional Development Manager at GWR. Dan will be talking about both the Devon Metro and MetroWest. MetroWest is a crucial part of the West of England Combined Authority’s plans to decarbonise the transport network, improve connectivity and further enhance the local economy. It will dramatically increase access to rail travel through new stations and increased services. The MetroWest programme is unprecedented in terms of the number of new stations being opened over such a short period of time.

The meeting is also open to non-members, who are welcome to observe. Light refreshments will be available.

Possible train connections:

Bristol Temple Meads 18:12 arrive Clifton Down 18:26
Bristol Temple Meads 18:46 arrive Clifton Down 19:00

Clifton Down 21:35 arrive Bristol Temple Meads 21:51
Clifton Down 22:01 arrive Bristol Temple Meads 22:17

We look forward to seeing you there!

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it even if I was a member. Hopefully somebody will do an online summary of what was said though and I hope somebody will ask when the Portway P&R station might open too (if it hasn't already done so by then).

Dave

There is on-street parking directly outside the venue, which is free after 5pm. There is also a multi-story car park at Clifton Down Shopping Centre, about 300m from the venue.
