It wouldn't be a grahame picture quiz without at least one picture of Melksham!  ;D

A365 Bath Road overbridge just south of the station. Looking down on 1C75 the 0751 from Paddington to Penzance. Through Melksham (not calling!) at 0907.

I think that's a fairly complete answer. :P

Complete - and part of it (the location) is right. Sorry - train and time is not but they all look much the same these days!

Picture taken at 09:56 - so it was 1A77 - the 08:30 Exeter St Davids to Paddington

As it's the final Sunday of the winter timetable and with a number of changes coming up next weekend, I popped down the station and stood in the "Jehovah's Witness" spot for each of the first four trains to let people know.   We've been doing a blitz in the local paper and social media, but talking to people is a real help too.

Some notes, going back to my old stats system:

08:38 on time toward Swindon [46/6]
+3 (2 on foot, one lift to station)
-3 (all on foot)
3 carriage train - estimate just under 40 passenger (yes, looked busy!)

09:37 on time toward Westbury [40/10]
+7 (6 on foot, one lift to station)
-3 (all on foot)
3 carriage train - estimate just under 30 passenger (yes, looked busy!)

11:25 on time toward Swindon [33/8]
+2 (1 on foot (destination Calne), one on cycle)
-6 (4 on foot and 2 picked up in two different cars)
3 carriage train - estimate around 25 through passenger (getting quieter)

12:25 on time toward Westbury [37/17]
+11 (4 on cycles, rest on foot)
-6 (4 on foot and 2 picked up in two different cars)
3 carriage train - estimate around 20 through passengers

Following - I do have notes train by train, but with the lowish numbers that would start to make individuals identifiable.

Destinations - Taunton, Swindon, Westbury, Calne, Trowbridge, Weston-super-mare
from Melksham locations - Berryfield and "near The Forresters"; note long walks.

Comments
- Calne awful by public transport (train to Chippenham then bus on Sunday)
- Great to have the evening train (general reaction); some knew already (local press)
- No problem loosing the 05:33 (almost everyone) but ...
- "Loss of 05:33 a problem for my morning meetings in London"
- With the Saturday through train to Weymouth, and will go - "did not like Westbury change"
- Closure of the cafe - news to about half the people I spoke too
- On closure of the cafe - "I have never seen it open"
- Generally very favourable to the service we have.

Ah yes. I got my StreetView orientation 180° wrong!

Blame it on a lack of morning coffee!
