Title: Network Rail's Strategic Business PLans for CP7
Post by: stuving on May 22, 2023, 14:35:14
Network rail have just put out a batch of Strategic Business Plans for CP7. They are not a fun read, unless you like wading through buzzword-infested boilerplate. But there are clues in there as to what NR (head office and the regions) intend to do with the £40 million plus they've been given to play with.

This is the main page (https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/publications-and-resources/control-period-7-strategic-business-plans/), with links to the national plan (https://www.networkrail.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/England-and-Wales-CP7-Strategic-Business-Plan.pdf), and plans for each region and "function"; e.g. the Wales and Western Plan (https://sacuksprodnrdigital0001.blob.core.windows.net/strategic-business-plan/Region%20strategic%20business%20plans/Wales%20and%20Western%20CP7%20Strategic%20Business%20Plan.pdf).

They are not a fun read, unless you like wading through buzzword-infested boilerplate.

They call it plausible deniability ............... in other words "well we did not actually mean that" ;D

There are a whole lot of detail behind the NR BP, there is a reduction in the level of funding a number of assets are going to be "sweated" for quite a few more years which my impact on reliability and performance.
