Title: TV Ad
Post by: eightf48544 on August 15, 2008, 15:19:54
Have any of you seen the latest National Express add for cheap fares on the ECML?

It features a model 91 and Mark 4 coaches, however, it appears to be entering the station running wrong line. (It seems to be a two track station and the train enters from the right on the far platform).

I suppose if you have a bus company and an ad agency they are bound to get it wrong.

There are times it seems that as soon as you get an Ad agency involved, there's something on what's shown that has the more knowledgable folks shaking their heads in disbelief.   And probbaly being very unfair to the majority of ad agencies, of course!

You 're right the ad agancy is probably not wholly to blame but they might have done their research better.

No it's the client's fault for allowing their product to be depicted incorrectly. In my opinion it reduces my confidence in the particular product advertised. In my case I happen to have a slight knowledge of railways so I pick up faults in ads such as this. There must be lots of other people with expertise in other areas who spot incorrect depictions of products in adverts.

If the product provider can't get the ads right it doesn't enhance one's confidence in that company or the product.
