Title: Swindon Railway Festival - 13/14 Sep at Steam Museum of Great Western Railway
Post by: Chris from Nailsea on September 05, 2008, 22:06:42
"The last steam locomotive to be built by British Railways has returned to her 'home town' of Swindon to take centre stage at the town's Railway Festival.

The locomotive Evening Star, built in March 1960, has arrived by road from the National Railway Museum at Shildon in County Durham, 250 miles away.  Evening Star was last in Swindon 30 years ago and she will stay at the town's steam museum for two years."

This explains the "Steam is Coming Home This August" poster which has been at Swindon for a while now.

I was beginning to wonder if they were going to leave the sign there indefinitely and pretend they had meant August 2009 all along.
