A non passenger train has derailed between Gloucester and Stonehouse also affecting the line to Cam & Dursley. Currently First Great Western will be unable to run trains between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa and between Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa. Replacement road transport is being sought.

A non passenger train has derailed between Gloucester and Stonehouse also affecting the line to Cam & Dursley. Currently First Great Western will be unable to run trains between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa and between Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa. Very limited road transport will be in place from 13:30. Please do not travel unless your journey is essential.

Line problem between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.
Train services between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads are being disrupted due to a derailed train.Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes can be expected.

The train involved is a non passenger train and there are no customers involved. Replacement road transport is being sourced. Some Cross Country services will be diverted between Gloucester and Bristol Temple Meads via Newport -South Wales- and Lydney, Cross Country have agreed to accept First Great Western tickets where possible. First Great Western are accepting Cross Country tickets between Bristol and Reading.

National Rail Enquiries are reporting it as a derailed freight train near Stonehouse.

"A rail tanker has come off the tracks close to a hotel in Gloucestershire and is leaking fuel.  The wagon overturned near the Beacon Hotel in Haresfield just before midday.  Transport Police said despite the leak it was not believed there was a threat to safety.

First Great Western said services between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads had been disrupted.  Northbound services from Bristol Temple Meads and Parkway are facing delays and cancellations while cross country services to and from Birmingham and the North are being diverted via Newport.

Local services to Gloucester, Cheltenham and Worcestershire are terminating at Cam and Dursley where a bus replacement service will start."
