Title: New Frenchay Park & Ride?

A new park and ride could be set up in Bristol to cater for millions of shoppers expected to flock to Cabot Circus (link below.)

It is estimated that about 20 million people a year will visit the centre , which is due to open in autumn 2008.

City council officers are currently investigating the idea of a park and ride from Frenchay and down the M32 motorway into the city centre.

However , it is believed that the service will not be ready in time for next year's opening of Cabot Circus.

Mark Bradshaw , the city council's new head of transport , said there was "a lengthy exercise to go through" before a permanent site was set up.

But he hinted that arrangements similar to those operated by First last Christmas , when a bus ran from the UWE campus to Broadmead every 15 minutes , could eventually provide the basis of the new service.
