Title: Interesting Journey Planner....... Post by: JayMac on August 27, 2009, 20:19:37 Following a change of plans on my part, I now intend making a trip to the Isle of Man instead of Ireland. I enquired today at Didcot (killing time) about the timings for a train/ferry trip from Bristol to Douglas, IOM.
This is the resulting journey plan that was printed off for me. (http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt68/bignosemac/IOM.jpg) All looks fine until you check the 'Operating Company' column. You are of course very lucky to be able to get from Bristol to the Isle of Man by train and ferry. The 12:28 Lancaster Heysham being one of couple of trains to serve Heysham per day. There is absolutely nothing there bar the Ferry port and the two atomic power stations. I've been there twice on rail tours and it's bleak even with the sun shining. I don't think I'll go again! Oooh....atomic power stations. I'd whip me camera out but I'll probably end up with the same amount of grief as that bloke taking pictures of Milford Haven oil terminal.
