Title: 'Cycling proficiency test boys flee secure unit'

This can only go in 'the lighter side' ...  ::)

From the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-11330836):

Quote
Two teenager boys absconded from a secure unit in Salford while taking their cycling proficiency test.

The pair, aged 13 and 14, are serving custodial sentences at Barton Moss Secure Unit in Eccles.

They were on a supervised test on Wednesday morning when they managed to cycle away on mountain bikes.

It is believed they cycled to Manchester Victoria Station before getting on a train. Police are appealing for information.

One was riding a silver Claude Butler bike and the other a red Kote mountain bike.

They were in a group of five teenagers taking part in the course, which was being supervised by five adults.

Salford City Council, which runs the unit, is now working with police to find the boys, who were due to leave the centre early next year.

Councillor Margaret Morris, Salford City Council's lead member for Children's Services, said: "The teenagers were taking part in a supervised course when it appears they made a 'spur of the moment' decision to abscond. We will of course look at whether anything more could have been done to prevent this, but our priority now is to work closely with the police to ensure the boys are found safe and well, as swiftly as possible."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Anyone who has information on their whereabouts should call police or Crimestoppers."

My highlighting. CfN. ;)

Even such one-on-one marking seems to have failed.  ::)
